Many of my college students have distorted views of sex because they have watched porn but have received little sex education from their families or from their schools. They might think that anal sex and group sex are typical, that genitalia should be hairless, and that regular facials (not spa-style ones) are standard. Many of their beliefs are put to the test once they start a real relationship with someone they care about, and they find that sex in the real world is very different from the sex they've seen online. However, young women who have had "Fifty Shades of Grey" or other Hollywood romantic comedies to shape their views on sex and love will also need to make room for reality.
